the e-mail was recieved by the server i can see it in /home/mydomain/mail/inbox ... however it just stays there and is never forwarded. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Go on, have a guess
You need to tail the exim mainlog while sending in an email and tracking it in the log to see what happens. If you set up a forwarder for a pre-existing email account, then it should deliver to both.

    Code:
    tail -f /var/log/exim/main.log
    ** Begin Output

    2006-01-05 15:42:45 exim 4.43 daemon started: pid=1412, -q1h, listening for SMTP on port 25 (IPv6 and IPv4)
    2006-01-05 15:42:45 Start queue run: pid=1413
    2006-01-05 15:42:45 End queue run: pid=1413

    **End Output

it just stays like that with no changes after the e-mail was sent and recieved by the server.

    Code:
    cat /home/user/mail/domain/inbox
    contains the e-mail i sent

    Any ideas?
