Just wondering if mail stops being delivered if cpu usage is high. I have the message in logs stating:
no immediate delivery: load average 10.22
This is because backups are currently running.
Does anybody know how to override these setting and forward email immediately. Thanks for your help.

Sorry folks.. I was on vacation and Alan was looking after my babies for me :) This has been a problem for us a couple of times on this one server. The backup seems to go on for far to many hours, where our other servers are normally done a lot quicker ( even those with more space used ). This morning was a little different however. When I came back in, there were about 15 tar processes running ( kept climbing ) so I killed them off and have the update prefs temporarily set to backup only files that have been updated, etc.

If anyone has or has had a similar issue, I would appreciate any input.
