Yesterday I upgraded to Cpanel 8.5.3 (from 7.4.something)

All seemed fine, until this morning I tried to check my e-mail. At first, I got an error from the server (that it terminated connection) So I restarted the pop3 deamon... Now all worked fine, except for one thing. The mailboxes were empty.

After sending an email to one of the accounts, I found out that the email didn't arrive at all. Note: afaik this only happened to 1 domainname on my server, the rest seems (so far) to be working the way it's supposed to.

After contacting (BurstNet) support and a little investigation, it appeared that the permissions of mailboxes were changed / not correct.

Is this a known bug...did anyone experience something similar?

WHM got this function under the Exim... for updating permission.

I too am now having this same problem. I have found a temp fix for it by using CPanel to foward my email to another domain which is on the same server.

Was it just folder permissions that need to be changed?

I had the same problem with only one account on my server. After setting up a forwarder I'm getting email again (Thanks, Nurples), but I'd like to actually fix the problem.

Which folder has the improper permission?

    Hello,

My folders were /home/nurples/mail/nurples.com/sales/ and /home/nurples/mail/sales/

Sales being the account name. The folder was set at 644 instead of 760. I had to do this for each account on that domain.

    Break Down:
Each folder needs to be 760
Each file in the folders needs to be 660

Send test emails to the account. If you get a returned email, it will contain some details on which files you still need to change. I basicly had to change every file in the mail folder.

The cause of this probolem? Unknown.

I did what was suggested on my server and I am still having the same problem. The weird thing is. I can check the email for the accounts via webmail just fine. Any other suggestions?
