Mail Queue Manager... Why some message are stuck in there

    Hello,

    I have a mailing list with the bounce email configured correctly. I get ~80% of the bounced emails to the address set in my return-path but around 20% hang in WHM Mail Queue Manager in this format:

    When I check someemail.com and someemail2.com etc I see they are for expired domains.

    So the questions are why they are not returning to bounce@mydomain.com like the others and what can I do about it?

    Could you post the output or specific error message when you attempt to deliver the message manually using the "Deliver Now" option?

    did you checked you have configured rdns for your domain name

    I don't think it's configured yet. Why do think this is necessary? Also I've seen this problem in over 30 cPanel servers.

    hello bro,

    As per reading your first post.I think some of the mails are still resides in the mail queue manager like you said someemail1.com and someemail2.com is because that domains are expired.

    As far i know the bounce emails will be redirected to your email address specified in the /etc/aliases file ,when the domains are valid.

    cPanelMichael please assist on this issue......

    It looks like your server is unable to connect to port 25 on the remote mail servers. You can confirm this by running the following command from your server:

    Code:
    # telnet remote-domain.com 25
    Replace "remote-domain.com" with a domain name that you are attempting to send to. If it fails to connect, you should check to see if you have any firewall rules in place that could be blocking the connection.

    Michael,

    MOST if not all of the stuck emails are for expired domains. I know that. The question is why they are not returning back to the return path email and what can I do about it.

    Hello,

    I have reviewed the logs posted in your last reply. Your mail server is failing to establish the connection to remote mail server to which you are sending an emails, generating connection time out error.

    Connection time out can occur if firewall of remote server has blocked your server for some reason or if your server IP is not white listed on remote mail server.
