Disk Used Quota
86160.67 M 155.00 M

About half of all mail quotas are wrong on one of our servers. The above is an actual example. There is no possible way that this email box is using 86GB of mail on a 155MB quota - in fact, I checked there mail directory with the du command and its under 155MB.

We did a eximup --force a few days ago, as well as force reinstall of spam assassin as it wasnt working properly. The reinstalls disabled spam assassin and spam box for everyone, but everything seemed to work fine after re-enabling it... Only problem are these quotas being way off.

Any idea how to force these quotas back down to reality?

Are you using EDGE/CURRENT?

If so, can you post a copy of the maildirsize file in /home/USER/mail/DOMAIN/SUBUSER/

?

Same problem here

Using current, X theme.

Its no surprise, just another cpanel bug (1 of 1700 bugs listed in bugzilla).

In othe words, just another day with garbage software

I've been tracking a ticket on this for 24 hours, but nothing fixed, yet. Tried moving from Release to Current, but didn't make a bit of difference. It's a fairly recent bug, as these quotas were fine last week.

I logged a ticket about this with cpanel earlier today however I've heard nothing back yet.

Multiple accounts on the server are showing crazy usage such as over 15Gb on a mailbox that only has a quota of 75Mb.

It only affects some accounts and I haven't been able to find why yet.

ok, seeing this on a server also.

Any indications if there is a fix yet?

Remove the "maildirsize" file from each email users directory in

/home/username/mail/domain.com/user/maildirsize

Then login cPanel again or refresh the page and it should restore the quota to the correct size. Do the same for any Accounts having this issue.

That will certainly resolve it right now.

What remains to be seen is if this occurs again or was a one time issue. Then we can determine if its a bug or not and possibly look into what caused it.

I tried this yesterday, but it seems that as soon as an affected mailbox receives an incoming email, the quota goes back to some crazy huge value.

I take that back, I may be wrong about removing maildirsize not helping.

This morning I tested again, and it appears to work. However, I did delete both the maildirsize file and /home/<user>/.cpanel-datastore/diskusage_<email user>.

So, for anyone who wants to clear all of those files:

Code:
find /home/*/.cpanel-datastore/ -name "diskusage_*" | xargs rm -f
find /home/*/mail/ -name maildirsize | xargs rm -f

And back I am with another retraction. It does not work, the mailbox will soon go wacky again. I removed the two files for a particular account, send the mailbox an email, didn't see anything change in the quota, and thought I had a solution, but after my last post, I refreshed the disk usage in cpanel and the mailbox jumped from 64.14MB usage back up to 39591.48MB.
