Hi totally new to this but been searching all over and cant find any think that will help me,

Im having massive trouble with my email, from pop3 on my system using mozilla thunderbird it will connect fine and log in fine and tell me there is no mail

then using (horde) webmail it tells me there are no messages and if i try to send i get Error There was an error sending your message: Failed to connect to localhost:25 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Connection refused (code: -1, response: )]

if any one needs more info to help simply ask and i will try and provide it.

    Cheers
    James

Are you trying to send/receive your emails from any email client or doing it from Cpanel's inbuild mail interface?

That would be a horde message. I'm getting it too. Horde should not be using SMTP.

Thanks nickp666, that was the exact problem I just ran into. Since my box is mainly a dedicated server with a couple "friend" accounts I wasn't aware there was a problem until a friend said he couldn't send email for a week or so.
