    Hello

I need to redirect the entire mail server to a different ip/machine. I only have access on cpanel user account but on the second server I have root access.

    How can I do it?

    Thanks

    Hello :)

Are you attempting to keep the domain name hosted on the source server and have only email handled on the remote server? If so, you will need to setup the email accounts on the remote mail server and modify the MX records on the source server. MX record changes are documented at:

    cPanel - MX Entry

    Thank you.

Thanks but that setting require a FQDN not an ip. On new server there is no domain hosted...

You can setup an "A" record that points to the IP address of the destination server. You can then utilize that subdomain as the hostname of the destination server.

    Thank you.

You can browse to the following option in cPanel on the source server:

"cPanel >> Domains >> Simple DNS Zone Editor"

Under "Add an A Record", choose a name and enter the IP address of the remote mail server. You can then use this subdomain as the CNAME entry for the MX record.

    Thank you.
