Mail Server setup

    Is ther ea way to direct all outgoing mail to use a mail server and still let all incomming mail be handle by exim that cpanel uses.

    If not what is the best way to direct all mail to the mail server?

    We changed the mx record 3 days ago and the mail is still comming throught the server. Any ideas?

    To direct all outgoing mail to another server you will need to edit /etc/exim.conf.

    First make a backup.

    Second remove everything between:

    # Remote addresses are those with a domain that does not match any item
    # in the &local_domains& setting above.

    and

    RETRY CONFIGURATION

    It should be approx. 100 lines of code. Replace it with:

    send_all:
    driver = domainlist
    transport = remote_smtp
    route_list = * ip.of.other.server byname

    end

    Change ip.of.other.server (leave 1 space between the * and byname) then save & close.

    /etc/rc.d/init.d/exim restart

    Done & Done.
