When I click on VIEW MAIL STATISTICS in my WHM, I see the following statsitic about half way down the page....

Top 50 host destinations by volume
    ----------------------------------

    6172 19GB local
    33 320MB cuda2.htc.net
    19 162MB mailin-01.mx.aol.com
    70 157MB mail.charter.net
    3 153MB scarlitlx021.alltel.com
    18 152MB mailin-02.mx.aol.com
    11 938KB mx2.nts-online.net

Can someone explain what this is indicating in regard to "local"...

    6172 19GB local

Note, these stats were over a 2 1/2 hour period.

local is email that is sent and received locally on the server, i.e. it doesn't leave the server.

Thank you Chirpy. Now I need to figure out why 19 GB of email was sent locally in a 2 hour period..... Yikes.

If you look through your exim_mainlog for the time period and pay attention to the S=nnn element on the lines - this gives you the size, in bytes, of the email.
