    Hi.

I'd like to know which of the server mail addresses configured in WHM is used for the [% from %] tag in the mail templates. In looking around the various screens, I see nothing that stipulates the account that WHM uses for outbound mail to user accounts, e.g., for disk quota warnings.

The "from:" addresses in the notifications are often constructed on the fly, by the subsystem that is going to send the notification.

For example scripts/quotacheck sends the disk quota notification. The "from:" portion of the email is constructed in the sendmsg routine within the script.

Right now there is no simple way of defining the "from:" portion of the notifications. What would you like to see?

    Hi, Kenneth.

I'd like to see a different e-mail address. There are at least 4 possible places to define e-mail in WHM, and not a single one (that I've seen) indicates that it would be the one used by WHM to send notifications to clients. When WHM is sending quota warning notifications to an account, it's using an off-site mail account that we use instead of an on-server account. This represents branding confusion.

So, where is WHM pulling this address?

Thanks for that clarification. "The cpanel email account receives alerts that WHM sends about users’ cPanel accounts. For example, quota and bandwidth overage notices." Apparently, not only does this address receive alerts, it's also used to send them.

    Hello,

Ideally we could specify an email address for these notifications to go out from (e.g. our helpdesk support address) and we'd like to be able to create HTML emails complete with our company signature etc. At the moment many customers ignore these emails because they look like spam.

If I change [% from %] to an email address, will the notifications still work? This would definitely help.
