And last I checked nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to pay for anything.

This is starting to become a major pain in the ass with people who set the quotas not being able to receive any mail. If Nick cant get the bugs out then he should just remove the feature until its working properly.

I just had to remove quotas for an email address. It was set at 10MB but with an empty inbox it would return full with a 12k attachement.

[email protected]
mailbox is full (MTA-imposed quota exceeded while writing to file /home/user/mail/address/inbox):
retry timeout exceeded

[/quote:a3626ef1a0]

No matter what quota you set the mailbox to, any mail is getting bounced back. If you read the first msg posted in this thread, it all mentioned inside.

Nick please update us on this, what should be done ??

regards,

Anand

it would be nice
BUT why would you want it if you cant use the actual email ?

We have received tonz of tickets from our clients regarding this issue.

I say remove it until you fine a way around the issue.

I don't want it if it's not going to work. I would love to have it IF it worked. I agree if you can't fix it it needs to go. But Nick may not even know about this problem. He may be able to fix it as fast as he can remove it.

Maybe if this problem is ACTUALLY happening to you, YOU might feel differently about this situation. Your reply shows that how IGNORANT you are regarding this situation. Maybe if you read through this thread, you will see not only me who is having this problem, Most people is having this mailbox quota problem. Maybe you're just a kid who doesnt know ****.

Let me understand this: If someone leaves the quota as &unlimited& everything seems OK. Does the problem arise when the mailbox user sets the quota to a figure like 5 MB, 10 MB or 25 MB or whatever?

Yes that's it you hit the nail right on the head. And for your info I do help with cpanel development. I made the blulagoon theme. I redid the main page. So for your info I do know ****. And of course my server has the same issue.

Also it seems splashhost has the best idea out of everyone here. Downgrade until the problem is resolved.

Thats fine for the new accounts. Pretty simple solution. But is there a way to disable this user quota itself ? I have some 200 domains on which my customers have enabled this mail quota and now all mails are stuck at the mail server and cannot be delivered.

Incase it can't be disbaled then i believe what i would probably do right now is delete all the etc directory's from /home, atleast it won't find the user quota config. I might seem a fool around here, but guys any other solution ??

Nick, please help on this one!!!!

Anand

I suppose the logical way to disable it is by commenting out the line in /etc/exim.conf which begins with the word &quota&.

If you open /etc/exim.conf with pico from your shell prompt, press Control+W, type in quota, and put a # at the beginning of the line.

I believe that should suffice... You might want to chattr +i exim.conf until you know the problem is solved.
