I need the structure changes that maildir will modify as we use some custom perl scripts to rebuild the /home/username/etc/domainname/passwd,shadow,quota files from a database read on a cronjob.

These sites are high volume and I really do not need the downtime to figure out the authenication file path changes after the conversion.

Will the maildir conversion modify the /home/username/etc/domainname/passwd,shadow,quota files path or format and if so modify it to what path and format ?

    Go on, have a guess
AFAIK, but could be wrong, the authentication files remain the same between maildir and mbox formats.
