mailing lists: forwarders vs mailman

A customer wants to create some email groups for certain units inside their company
i.e: [email protected] [email protected]

These are open groups so anyone can send emails to them.
The problem is that mailman has too many options and sometimes can be daunting,
so while looking for simpler alternatives I noticed that I can create several forwarders
using the same name.

Is this the recommended practice by CPanel?
I remember Direct Admin (the control panel I used before) had a more obvious configuration
option for this.

I don't see anything wrong with creating multiple email forwarders. Mailman might be more useful if you are looking for more of a mailing list environment, but forwarders are likely easier if you simply trying to get email to a specific location.
