    Hi there,

The pass week, all outgoing emai stopped working.

Tracing back, it has something to do with /var/log/maillog not being updated, it seems to stop writing to it at 2am every morning.

When maillog stopped, antirelayd cannot lookup pop ip from maillog to do authentication for smtp relay.

The only way to fix it is currently is to restart the whole server, restarting exim or antirelayd won't work.

I don't think it has anything to do with log rotation that was suggested elsewhere, because it does write to it.

    Someone please help! =/

If it is updating to maillog.1 instead of maillog, the problem is that the logrotate cron process does not restart syslogd. The most common cause for this is /tmp being mounted with noexec (which happens when securetmp is enabled).

If that is indeed what's wrong, the fix is to restart syslogd .. probably best done through a cron process which runs immediately after logrtoate. =)

    good luck.
