Hi. Not sure what happened when but I'm seeing errors subscribing people on mailman. It times out and gives me 500. We haven't changed anything!

From Apache logs:

Timeout waiting for output from CGI script /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/cgi-bin/admin, referer: http://MYDOMAIN.com/mailman/admin/MYLISTNAME_MYDOMAIN.com/members/add

Premature end of script headers: admin, referer: http://MYDOMAIN.com/mailman/admin/MYLISTNAME_MYDOMAIN.com/members/add
Is anyone else seeing this?

This issue is caused by a stale lock file in /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/locks. What happens is the mailman admin process sits in a loop waiting for the existing lock file to be removed, then times out. When that happens you'll see this error in /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log:

Timeout waiting for output from CGI script /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/cgi-bin/admin

The solution is simply to remove the lock files for that particular list and then the mailman admin page will let you right in.
