    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/bin/mailmanctl stop

Just go into WHM > tweak settings and disable mailman there.

    the path is correct

/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/bin/mailmanctl . Do you have mailman service running ?

    ps -ax|grep mailman

what is the result of that ?

Disabling mailman from the whm --> tweak settings wont delete those aliases. You have to deleted mailing list from cpanel for users who have mailing lists already.

Of course, delete the mailing lists first, and then disable it from whm . Other wise, you will not find option in the cpanel to delete mailing lists

yes, i deleted the mailing list then disabled it from whm..
    however aliases still exist.
did whereis find and grep and mailmanctl did not appear anywhere.
