    First let me indicate that I have used the mailman mail list program successfully on number cpanel servers.

    Recently on one of our newer cpanel servers I have had problem with the mail list system ... after lists are set up, the list will not send mail to the list addresses.

    I have verified the box is seeing the inbound e-mails to the list, but from there nothing is happening. I am using known good list configurations that have always worked on other boxes.

    I was able to get a list to work on the box in question for a short period of time, but when the list was deleted, and a new list created, the problem showed up again. The config of the new list is exactly the same and on the same domain. The initial test list that ultimately worked, did not work for a couple of weeks, then all of a sudden started sending test emails I had sent week before. The list worked until it was deleted, and the new list(s) again do not send.

    Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be...? I would appreciate the help.

    Raymond

    Kindly check the error logs for the exact error message. You can get the error logs at /var/log/exim_mainlog.

    We are having the same problem with a few mailing lists. Exim mail log seems to think everything is ok... but e-mails never get sent out...

    In addition to checking the Exim logs, I recommend to also check the Mailman logs within the following directory path:
    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs
    Here is an example of some of the log file paths you may find within the above directory structure:
    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/bounce
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/error
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/locks
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/mischief
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/post
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/qrunner
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/smtp
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/smtp-failure
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/subscribe
    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/logs/vette

    Same problem, brand new installation, nothing in logs to indicate issue.

    Same problem - mailman does not sending emails on same domain

    We have 3 different mailing lists for 3 seperate domains on our server. 2 of them is working without any problem. But one of them is not working properly.

    It does not send the email to the accounts on the same domain, anyway it sends others.

    I'd really appreciate it, if you can help me about this ?

    P.S: I also run /scripts/fixmailman ... it still does not work at all

    Please check the Mailman logs for details about what is or is not happening that may be related to the symptom being experienced.

    For reference, please see the earlier post, as linked here, that details the paths to a number of the Mailman log files: cPanel Forums - View Single Post - Mailman List System does not send mail

    I would also consider checking the Exim mainlog, as found at the following path via root SSH access:
    Code:
    /var/log/exim_mainlog

    I already try with fixmailman and disabling anything related with the firewall. Still not working.

    Please also check the Exim mainlog during the same time frames as seen in the mailman logs to determine with more accuracy and detail the specific issue involved. Looking at the mailman log detail provided it would appear to me that the remote mail servers at Yahoo and Gmail refused the connection, thus it will help to check if any similar or more verbose details are in the Exim main log.

    Thank you, i found the problem. Mailman was trying to send email using smtp on port 125. I guess its a configuration setting left behind when i was using ASSP.

    Just as a side note, if you have mailman issues in the future and you don't get enough info from the logs you can increase the level of verbosity in mailman's logs.

    Open up: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/Mailman/Handlers/SMTPDirect.py

    search for:

    Code:
        def __connect(self):
            self.__conn = smtplib.SMTP()
            self.__conn.connect(mm_cfg.SMTPHOST, mm_cfg.SMTPPORT)
            self.__numsessions = mm_cfg.SMTP_MAX_SESSIONS_PER_CONNECTION
    and change it to:

    Code:
        def __connect(self):
            self.__conn = smtplib.SMTP()
            self.__conn.set_debuglevel(1)
            self.__conn.connect(mm_cfg.SMTPHOST, mm_cfg.SMTPPORT)
            self.__numsessions = mm_cfg.SMTP_MAX_SESSIONS_PER_CONNECTION
    that way you can see the full smtp transaction and act accordingly.
