Mailman Not Working on Some Lists

At some point in the not-so-distant past, Mailman stopped working on a few low traffic mailing lists I run (low enough, I didn't notice for awhile and am not sure exactly when something went wrong. Now when someone tries to post, it generates this error from the Mail Delivery System:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

pipe to |/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/mail/mailman post cmug-admin_cmug.domain.com
generated by [email protected]
local delivery failed

The following text was generated during the delivery attempt:

------ pipe to |/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/mail/mailman post cmug-admin_cmug.domain.com
generated by [email protected] ------

Could not exec '/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/mail/mailman'

I can't figure out why certain lists -- even on the same account -- would get this error, while others do not. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tim

Hello :)

Please try repairing the mailman permissions via:

Code:
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/bin/check_perms
Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion. It found some other problems and fixed them, but unfortunately did not fix this particular issue. It is still complaining that it can't execute mailman.

Thanks again for your help!

You can also try forcing an update of Mailman via:

Code:
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/mailman-install --force
Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, yet again. Unfortunately, this too did not seem to have an effect. Any other ideas?

To update, this issue occurred due to the use of "-admin" in the mailing list name. There is an internal case open to address this issue. For reference, the case number is 84109. Feel free to monitor our change log for this case number to see when a resolution for this case has been issued:
