There has been a number of posts concerning problems with Mailman due to recent edge and current upgrades. None of these posts has been addressed. Could somebody from cPanel address these issues?

The mailman version number that is affected is version 2.1.7.cp1. I cannot find a version 2.1.7.cp1 on list.org's web site so I am not sure where this version number came from. The only fix I found is to downgrade to stable which puts you back at version version 2.1.6. The last version that worked fine was version 2.1.7.

It seems every function works on Mailman except posting to a mailing list which happens to be the most important function. The server is receiving the posts fine but mailman is not distributing them to the list members.

Could someone from cPanel please address this issue?

Has anyone actually reported the bug yet, or is there just the posts here on the board?

Open a report with the bug tracker, then post the link so others experiencing the same problem can 'vote' for the bug so it gains a higher level of attention.

This is fixed in the latest EDGE release (which came out around an hour ago). It's probably going to be filtered down through the other builds too, since it's a mailman patchup, and not a whm or cpanel rebuild.

    Thanks.

When the problem started yesterday, I downgraded to STABLE. Once they released the update with the mailman patch today (to fix some Python problem) I upgraded back to EDGE and whammo, everything was happy with the world again.

    How about current?

Does anyone know if this patch has been ported to the current branch of cpanel?

Error appears to be in processing "accept all" status posts

I have observed the following behavior running

    Mailman version 2.1.7.cp1
    WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.2-C92

    1. If I post to the list using a subscribed email address, with status "unmoderated" the post goes nowhere.

    2. If I post to the list using a non-subscribed email address, the post is correctly "moderated", generates a moderation notice to me as admin. If I go to the routine to tend pending moderation requests and "accept" the post, it is correctly mailed out to the list recipients.

    3. If I place the non-subscribed email on the filter for "accept all posts", posts from that email address no longer generate moderation requests and are not emailed to the list subscribers.

    4. If I remove the non-subscribed email address from the "accept" filter (under "Privacy" options), then subsequent posts are correctly handled as in #2 above.

    5. finally, if I go to the "Membership Management" routine and mark my email address as "Mod" (for Moderate posts from this subscriber) then the posts are correctly processed as in #2 above,

So the bug is actually in the treatment of emails from "accept all posts" status email addresses, which are being incorrectly processed as if they were set to the "discard all posts."

Good detective work buybeach. That explains why our moderated or announcement only lists were working and not the discussion lists.

    version 2.1.7.cp2

If you do an edge update you should go to version 2.1.7.cp2 which works OK, at least it does for me. I am not sure how far down this has filtered as I only have 2 servers, one on stable and one which is now edge :)

Updated to Edge as well last night to get this to work. Anybody know if this is now in current so I can reset my automatic upgrades?

I have already set mine back to auto and current, I belive this will not cause a downgrade as mine still works.

this still has not been corrected in stable

Is there no way at all to fix this without having to move to edge?

I have one server on stable and this problem has not surfaced there ? Mailman on (my) stable is still on 2.1.6 and has worked fine over the last couple of weeks, so not sure why you are having this problem, but just wondering if mine is going to break soon as well :(

it is broken across all of my servers. none of my users have been able to use their mailing lists properly since the 11th.

All of my servers are running: WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.2-C92

    Mailman version: 2.1.7.cp1

I just do not want to update to edge and take on problems lurking with it since...well, since it is edge.

I was hoping a fix might be handy to make my users happy again rather than waiting for the fix to make its way to current.

Sorry for the typo in my initial post...I stated stable when I should have said current.

Here is the fix cPanel tech support gave us, it worked on our servers..
    Code:
    wget
    http://layer1.cpanel.net/Python-2.4.3.tar.bz2

    tar jxf Python-2.4.3.tar.bz2

    cd Python-2.4.3

    ./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-cxx=/usr/bin/c++

    make

    make install

    make clean

    wget -O /usr/local/cpanel/bin/mailman-install

    http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/EDGE/bin/mailman-install

    wget -O /usr/local/cpanel/src/3rdparty/gpl/patches/mailman-2.1.7.cpanel.patch

    http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/EDGE/src/3rdparty/gpl/patches/mailman-2.1.7.cpanel.patch

    /scripts/reinstallmailman

    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/convertmailman2
