I have this coming up alot now- some of our customers that do NOT want the suexec environment regardless of everything being stable and working.
This also includes me of course..... at least on some of the older boxes. ;)

Actually screw the older machines for now. On the fresh installs, how can I make mailman/Cpanel work together, if initially the suexec environment is installed and then I roll it back by killing the suexec binary and reverting the httpd.conf ?

    I get this lovely error:

    .............................
    Mailman CGI error!!!

    (blah blah blah yada)

Failure to exec script. WANTED gid 99, GOT gid -1. (Reconfigure to take -1?)
    ............................................

Yea and of course that weird group config is nonexistant since I took suexec away- how do I get mailman to be in the right frame of mind to work with cpanel on a machine like this?

This information would be valuable to me.
    Hah.

    :P
    Thanks

Idea: check in the httpd.conf to make sure that the group is not set to #-1 but to nobody like the user - we had to change this on boxes where we disabled suexec as part of all the reconfig we did to get peoples\' scripts to run properly (including mailman).
