    HI

For the last couple of weeks
mailnull / exim have taken over my server and is making the load go very high

Almost everything I see in "top" are entries like these

    3415 mailnull 18 0 0 0 0 Z 2.0 0.0 0:00.06 exim <defunct>
    3232 mailnull 15 0 9056 3520 2540 S 1.7 0.1 0:00.05 exim
    3312 mailnull 15 0 9044 4228 3140 S 1.7 0.1 0:00.05 exim
    2515 mailnull 15 0 9096 3568 2536 S 1.3 0.1 0:00.10 exim
    2801 mailnull 16 0 9068 3520 2528 D 1.3 0.1 0:00.04 exim
    3352 mailnull 24 0 0 0 0 Z 1.3 0.0 0:00.04 exim <defunct>
    2968 mailnull 16 0 9104 3504 2496 S 1.0 0.1 0:00.03 exim
    3194 mailnull 15 0 9024 2932 1960 S 1.0 0.1 0:00.05 exim

The server does get a lot of incoming mail-but-the load is always low
I monitor "top" all the time and I can't figure out what changed

I am running whm 11.30.4 stable version
    I do have csf firewall

    eximtidy does not help

I disabled spamd in service manager and tweak settings because I was getting these errors in the maillog
2011-10-05 13:16:14 1RBV4Y-0002H9-Oz spam acl condition: all spamd servers failed
spam acl condition: warning - spamd connection to 12
7.0.0.1, port 783 failed: Connection refused
disabling spamd did not help the high load -but-did get rid of the errors in the maillog

Thanks in advance for your help

    Audrey
