Can Mailscanner and Boxtrapper co-exist on the same server?

Any potential problems?

thanks,

Go on, have a guess
They work independently and so can both work on the same server without issue - apart from the usual issues with boxtrapper, i.e. looping emails and the high risk that your server will end up in a major RBL

Thank you, Chirpy. I have read just about everything on this forum regarding boxtrapper and I know you strongly dislike it which is why I haven't touched it. However, my customers aren't crazy about Mailscanner and I want to offer an alternative. At the same time, don't want to cause a bunch of headaches. It seems that one of the biggest issues with boxtrapper is the potential for the ping-pong looping. I was wondering if there was a way to disable the automatic emails that go out as a way to avoid getting on any RBL lists? Then the customer would just need to check the boxtrapper queue on a regular basis, adding people to their whitelists as they see them. Is this possible?

thank you,
BX

When you disable boxtrapper and some users had it enabled it will disapear from their Cpanel, but will remain active. Can you somehow find accounts (in Shell) that "still" have boxtrapper enabled?

thank you.
