Odd thing happened yesterday - mail was joining the Mailscanner queue but never being processed...
I updated all the wonderful Configserver scripts but it made no difference - the only thing to do was to disable Mailscanner and then everything works properly but there are still currently 900 emails sitting in the queue and some very angry clients.
A tail of Maillogs just showed this set of recurring messages:
Sep 11 00:06:43 hb1 MailScanner[30926]: Using SpamAssassin results cache
Sep 11 00:06:43 hb1 MailScanner[30926]: Connected to SpamAssassin cache database
Sep 11 00:06:45 hb1 MailScanner[30926]: Connected to Processing Attempts Database
Sep 11 00:06:45 hb1 MailScanner[30926]: Found 15 messages in the Processing Attempts Database
Sep 11 00:06:47 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: MailScanner E-Mail Virus Scanner version 4.84.5 starting...
Sep 11 00:06:47 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: Reading configuration file /usr/mailscanner/etc/MailScanner.conf
Sep 11 00:06:47 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: Reading configuration file /usr/mailscanner/etc/conf.d/README
Sep 11 00:06:47 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: Config: calling custom init function MailWatchLogging
Sep 11 00:06:47 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: Started SQL Logging child
Sep 11 00:06:48 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: Using SpamAssassin results cache
Sep 11 00:06:48 hb1 MailScanner[30944]: Connected to SpamAssassin cache database
Coincidentally the security certificates expired yesterday... could that be a factor? They've been renewed now.
Also the mysql innodb table is corrupt on this server (which I'm about to drop as most accounts have migrated to a replacement) - but that's been the case for the past two weeks and this only started yesterday.
Any ideas on how to get Mailscanner to spit back those unprocessed 900 emails and allow exim to just deal with them - or preferably how a dummy like me can just get Mailscanner running again?
Thanks
