When ever i send a mail to a client with an IP address in it like: go to http://12.12.12.12/cpanel Mailscanner adds into the sent mail "MailScanner warning: numerical links are often malicious: http://12.12.12.12/cpanel "
Is there any way we can stop it doing this? "white listing" our mail address doesn't stop it

That's probably the phishing scam configuration. You should be able to whitelist in /usr/mailscanner/etc/phishing.safe.sites.conf
