    Hello,

I am running a cPanel box with MailScanner.

When an email is detected to have an attachment with an unacceptable filename (such as a .exe file) I would like the recipient to receive an email saying that:

"The original e-mail attachment '$filename' was removed ...
If you wish to receive a copy of the original attachment, please
e-mail helpdesk and include the whole of this message
in your request." [the typical message appearing in "/usr/mailscanner/etc/reports/en/stored.filename.message.txt"

I've already got the server to store such attachments on the server... but cannot get it to send out the message to the recipient.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

All of the following are set:

    Notify Senders = yes
Notify Senders Of Viruses = yes
Notify Senders Of Blocked Filenames Or Filetypes = yes
Notify Senders Of Other Blocked Content = yes
Never Notify Senders Of Precedence = list bulk

Still doesn't send out the notification to the recipient.

    Any thoughts?

If you want the recipient notified you should set:

    Deliver Cleaned Messages = yes

    Chirpy, you are king.

My definition pointed to a file called "virus.delivery.rules" in which deliveries were set to no. I changed the setting for the unique domain and now it works.

    Thanks.

MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from ""http:" claiming to be http://domain.com.au/auctions/special.php

    added to it?

Please can someone tell me how to stop this with outgoing mails..

That's the anti-phishing in MailScanner. If you edit /usr/mailscanner/etc/MailScanner.conf and change:

    Find Phishing Fraud = no

    Then restart MailScanner:

    service MailScanner reload
