    Hi,

I'm migrating accounts between servers and it's going very well using the automated cPanel tools (thank you) - however over time I have a few clients that will be using an IP address for the mailserver in their mail client settings, or some might be using the main server address. Is there a way to detect which users are accessing the mailserver by IP, or a specific mailserver address using the log files?

Currently using Centos 5.7 and Courier as the mailserver.

    Thank you.

    Hello :)

The log file for mail server login activity can be found at:

    Code:
    /var/log/maillog
However, you will not be able to determine if the end-user is using the hostname or IP address in their email client. You may want to send an email to let them know of the change in-case any of them are using the old IP address. It's good practice to have them use "mail.theirdomain.com" in their email clients so that no configuration changes are required in the event of a server change.

    Thank you.

Thanks Michael - I was afraid of that, no problem.
