My host set up a main email account for me in cpanel, however I never use it. Is there a way that she can change the name of that account to the account that I actually use? Right now I'm finding that 18MB of space have been taken up with this account that I never use with nothing but junk mail and no way to delete it all at once. I'd really appreciate your support.

Might be better just to have it deleted and then add a new account for your current address. Deleting the old one should remove the 18mb of spam.
BTW - like your sig line.

So if I were to delete the Main Account, would that also delete the account I'm actually using?

If I understand correctly what is being said, you have no access to cPanel? The cPanel docs: http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cp/ may help. Email accounts are setup by domain. Unless an email address is setup to forward to another account, then each address should be separate from another. Your host should be able to clarify how you are setup. Does that help?

I do have access to my cPanel, but my webspace provider says
I just have to believe if you can create it, you can delete it no?

Yes you can delete it. Not sure why they seem to be vague or maybe just cautious:)

How do you delete the Main email Account? There is no option to do that.

May have misunderstood your earlier question. In any event this is how we handle it. Check this link for 2 options. http://unofficial-support.com/node/view/37?PHPSESSID=2c65b215bbea9878ff26222b3e217bd1
Blackhole option would be preferred in my mind because you are not creating additional email traffic that just keeps bouncing as the spam address you receive from is unlikely to accept a bounced back message. After that in cPanel opposite the main account there is an option to check your mail via webmail. You should be able to clean out the spam mail you mentioned and any others.
Sorry if I wasn't more direct at the beginning.:)

To delete and then re-create another file/directory:

    1. Login to your CPanel
    2. Click on File Manager
    3. Find and click on Mail directory, then "inbox"
    4. delete "inbox", wait for a minute or two and then create a new, fresh, inbox.

There are so many incompetent individuals running their web hosting companies from home.

If you need more help, send a note to andyreed@webhostpad.com

    DONE!

Thank you for that link edewing :)

Going to this link seems to have put at bay all the unwanted MB of space that the Main Account seems to take up.
