MAJOR PROBLEM - named crashing server

Hi all,

I have a problem with my server. Pretty sure its named causing the issue. Anyhow I wil reboot the server and it comes back up, now a days I have to login to directadmin via ip and restart named. Why directadmin instead of shell? Because it hangs on login(entering of password) and I cant get in. At all.

Now the server will last about 12 hours and then do this again.

What should I do?

Login via shell - not the control panel. When a a service fails you can't do anything through the CP - its pretty much completely useless.

service named restart

then fail your /var/log/messages to see the status

see yeah thats the thing.. I told you I cant get in via shell. It hangs after I enter my password.

And before when I was able to get in.. I did that exact thing.. there was never any errors.

Im gonna have to drive down to the DC me thinks. Thing is I want a resolution or atleast some idea before I go.

And yes I can restart named via the control panel.
