I was wondering with the new feature to send e-mail through the user's IP (instead of the server), if it is possible to manually configure the HELO for each domain.

We use shared IPs, but we use several IPs on each server (4-7), so we have several tenths of customers on each IP.

Currently, the mail server sends through the main IP, identifies as the hostname, and rDNS points to the hostname so the HELO match is done. Working fine so far.

We would like to setup "sub" hosts, lets say:

    host2.serverdomain.com
    host3.serverdomain.com
    host4.serverdomain.com
    .. etc ...

These hostnames would point to the each of the shared IPs on the server. The rDNS for each of the shared IPs will be set to match the individual hostname.

We just need to rebuild /etc/mailhelo so the HELO used on each domain is not the domain itself but one of the individual, shared "sub"-hostnames.

Is this doable? How often does Cpanel update /etc/mailhelo?

Any pointers or other way of doing this is greatly appreciated.

    Warmest Regards,

    AAG
