I'm getting closer to upgrading from MariaDB 10.3 to either 10.5 or 10.6 on a couple of busy shared servers, one running CL 7.9 and the other CL 8.8.
Assuming that:
1. We've taken all the normal precautions, like backing up the database first, in case we need to restore it.
2. We have enough advanced in-house sys admin experience to manage the upgrade and deal with any major hiccups
And acknowledging that if any websites will have a problem with the upgrade, then it's most likely to be the older sites.....
My question is: should our aim be to go all the way to 10.6 (via 10.5, I assume)?
Or would it be more prudent to stop at 10.5, and consider going for 10.6 at a later date?
Or to put it another way... how likely is it that if we have to 'fix' a website after upgrading to 10.5, we'll have to fix it again after upgrading to 10.6?
