I am having bit issues in MySQL with max_allowed_packet variable.

The scenario is like we recently changed servers.

The old server was MySQL 4.x and the new one has MySQL 5.x

I checked and compared variables and stuff.

The script is going crazy because it is only able to fetch first 1MB of BLOB data from a table cell.

I fixed it in past on old server by setting the variable in my.cnf

This new server I already did that in etc/my.cnf

The phpMyAdmin shows it is now set 500 MB [Just did it 500 for sake of it]

But still my script is not working as it is not able to get that BLOB value of 1.28 MB and is just getting 1MB :(

Any help or opinions would be appreciated as I am running out of leads.
