I'm using Squirrelmail as a front end for the Exim Mail Server.
I have migrated over a large amount of messages from a previous server. Some of the mailboxes are quite large and contain about 2GB of mail each.

At the moment, there are no problems (apart from my daily backup taking ages to complete).
The mailboxes are only going to increase in size and I wonder if there is a maximum working limit for Exim or is this not an issue?

There is not a maximum limit. However, if the mailboxes continue to grow, they can start eating up all of your actual harddrive space.

So all in all, you should be fine but I would monitor the sizes every once in a while. Also I would tell any users to delete their trash, sent, and spam folders every once in a while to help compensate with the growth.
