It has happened to 2 servers running Trustix 2.2 for a few days now.

    [snip from upcp]
    Fetching http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/RELEASE/scripts/.cpanelsync.bz2 (0)....@69.72.164.152......connected......receiving...33%...66%...99%...100%......Done
    Fetching http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/RELEASE/scripts/installzendopt.bz2 (0)....@69.72.164.152......connected......receiving...100%......Done
    md5sum mismatch (actual: 28bf325ea3ea89385ed4dae0ee7ff667) (expected: 57f7c26181bba9baf5a0a2ff49f3f5ab)
    Fetching http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/RELEASE/scripts/installzendopt (0)....@69.72.164.152......connected......receiving...100%......Done

    Download Failed... trying again...in....60....59....58....57....56....55....54..

and this occurs to every IP upcp is syncing with.

If I make change to /scripts/cpanelsync to bypass md5sum, things went fine. But the error happens again on next upcp (I'm running Release 95 now). Force updating doesn't help.

Anyone has got this kind of error and know how to fix it permanently?

    Thanks.

    Go on, have a guess
You'll probably need to log a ticket with cPanel through your cPanel license provider to get something like that fixed. I wouldn't be surprised if it's an incompatibility issue with Trustix somewhere along the line.

Um... just got this one from FC2. My other couple Trustix 2/2.2 dont' suffer from this event. So I guess it's not Trustix specific now.

Most do these days as it supposedly conserves their bandwith overheads. No help though when you really don't need cached pages and you have no way of knowing that. It was preferred when ISPs had non transparent proxies then you at least knew what to expect.

    :)

Anyone ever find a real solution to this issue? Firewall isn't the issue as the server we are having this issue on has been running without a problem for over 6 months receiving updates and no changes on firewall ports. There are other servers in that same rack on the same switch that work without a hitch also.

These error messages will appear if your /usr/ partition is full.
