    Hi

yerteday a customer sended a 15mb mysql import thought phpmyadmin and server overload a couple of times and i rebooted a couple of times and in the third time
it according to the DC had a superblock corrupted

Now the DC said they will reload a new HD in this server and put the other one as slave in order to me save its contents

HOW CAN I FAST REINSTALL CPANEL AND USE THIS SLAVE FALTY DRIVE TO RESTORE THEIR /HOME ACCOUNTS AND MYSQL DBS, AND CPANEL SETTINGS?

OR CAN I USE THE SECOND HD TO FAST COPY SOME PARTITIONS AND START THE OLD SYSTEM IN THE NEW HD?

I am really scared and i need your HELP!!!!

Without seeing all the data/error msgs this one is gonna be touchy

the first step after they install the new drive and OS is to run fsck /dev/<spare device name> and see if it will restore the superblock. If so then your home free. If not you may not be able to mount the old drive at all, there again its one of those hope and pray deals.

If you can mount the old drive and both are in the same server then copy all the directories over except /boot and /lib and this should put you back same as before.

I have done this several times before and it works most of the time

however you can also start from scratch and reload cpanel and move the accounts over or restore from backup
