    Customer keeps getting this...

24-Jul-2007 15:26:11] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1600 bytes)

[24-Jul-2007 15:27:08] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 6400 bytes)

The memory limit is set to 32MB as you can see. Any ideas why this is happening ?

We had one customer recently with a similar problem but she had uploaded her own php.ini file and it was set to 8MB.

This customer doesnt have his own ini file and it is correctly reporting the limit - but saying it has been exceeded when it hasnt.

My assumption was that "tried to allocate 1600 bytes" means that the script is only tying to use 1600 bytes of memory.

By the fact that this post has had no responses - I now presume the error means that the script tried to allocate 1600 bytes OVER the 32MB limit. Its not very clear.

Can someone put me out of my misery and confirm that ?

Yes, that is correct. The 1600 and 6400 bytes is requested beyond the set limit. This may very well go beyond that as the process develops and loads further down the road. I would suggest increasing the limit by 2 meg or more until it works and then cut back to only what is needed.
