    Trustix dropped cpanel???

Seems that Trustix just dropped cpanel. I just wanted to setup 2 servers on trustix+cpanel (was definetly available on sunday at cpanel.trustix.com) but seems like Trustix has closed the store and is now promoting cp+ and Hsphere - cpanel.trustix.com redirects directly to hsphere.trustix.com and not a single word about cpanel anymore.

Cpanel guys, care to comment on that?
Any chance something similiar will be offered in near future (RHEL+cpanel for excellent price would be nice touch)?

Well.. trustix is no longer listed as supported on the front page: http://www.cpanel.net/

This does NOT supprise me in the least. I'd say comodo / trustix would rather market their own product than continue to market that of a competetor.

    I can't say I didn't see this one coming!

Think you'll find this is more to do with trustix/Comodo promoting their own product, not a rivals.

    Go on, have a guess
From my experience configuring cPanel and other apps on Trustix, I'm not surprised. And I am glad, though it's a shame for those looking for the cheaper licenses.

Official Response on the Trustix Issue

We have not had any correspondance from Comodo about their decision to stop promoting or supporting cPanel. We have noticed that their webpage now directs to their own competing products and that they are no longer providing cPanel support. We have removed our links to their products and will no longer be supporting the trustix distribution.

We are unaware if Comodo has any plans to continue to maintain existing cPanel licenses. If any customers are displaced in this issue, we will make a special discount on direct licensing.

How much lower can Comodo go ?

    1. They removed support for your product without notice.
    2. They immediately ( again without notice ) redirect their cpanel product page to their new H-sphere offering. A page in which cPanel linked to directly from their frontpage.

Now, im not lowblowing hsphere here, sure its a great product. Then again, its now owned by Comodo. Lets hope we don't start seeing hsphere amongst the many viagra and utility enlargement emails we all get.

I have no doubt in my mind that Comodo would have had all intents and purposes off pulling this stunt after they make the big H aquisition.

Sure its their business, they can run it how they like. They're certainly not in this lifetime, going to get any of my business thats for sure. They remind me of the very pushy sales person in a clothing shop that just won't leave you be. I CAN DRESS MYSELF THANK YOU!

Comodo is a spam house. I can't stand their brand or the pathetic service they offer.

Out of curiosity, did trustix / comodo give you, as a paying client to them, any sort of notice that this was going to happen ?

I'd say you should probably start considering a supported OS. Do you really want to use a product that would do something of this nature, especially in the way in which it has done so ? Will it be the last time ? If you take a look at Comodo's track record, i'd say it's not.

That is quite true, but really what alternative do you have? The vendor obviously doesn't want your business, which is not an ideal situation, IMHO, for a production server anyways.

Though i've not used trustix before, I do remember that it was initially based off of one of Redhat's enterprise releases ( I think 2.1 ). Perhaps migrating to an OS such as CentOS.org might be easy enough using the upgradeany option?

    Couldn't email cpanel

    Hello,

All our emails being dumped into their cpanel blackhole because they think our email address is a spammer or what so ever...

Could cPanel unblock our email domains in Australia? wchost.com

    Best Regards.
PS: It is about licensing move from Trustix to direct purchase.

Your address has been whitelisted in the system. You should have no problems now.
