Message showing in apache logs - \\x80L\\x01\xx03

    I have just been looking in the apache error_logs file, and notce the following line showing several times (from different IP addresses):

    Invalid method in request \\x80L\\x01\\x03

    Any ideas what this means ?? - My server provider believes it is a 'bogus' request that is flooding my server....

    It is strange though, as we don't use SSL....
