cPanel uses http(s)//username @ domain.tld for getting users around quite alot and Microsoft is patching IE TODAY and removing this ability.

Granted the http url rfc states that username and password is not allowed but for ftp. So they are just bringing their browser into line with the rfc to stop phishing.

Now I run stable on my servers. I don't think I can wait for fixes to cPanel to go from edge to stable for this as it's going to leave alot of my users out in the cold.

My question is, cPanel, are you going to fix this quickly or do we users of your product need to write some hacks?

    Ohhh

I was aware of the issue - but not that cpanel used it internally. If so, that's a horrible thing. Where is it used, pray tell?

I tested that just now with an updated(downgraded) IE without an issue on:
    WHM 8.8.0 cPanel 8.8.0-R8
    RedHat 9 - WHM X v2.1.2

Dunno how stable handles it, but I didn't note anything in the changelog either..

Also means that cPanel will need to change the links to their demo site on the homepage :D

I've been using the patch since sunday (yay beta versions) and have had no problems connecting anywhere.
