Hello I was hoping someone may offer me some advice.

I am a web hosting reseller and one of my clients has a website which they want moved to a VPS which I have resold them. As the purpose of the VPS is just to host a single website and so they don't have to change named servers on the domain name I wanted to keep the same named servers that is used for my reseller account.

Using CPanel and migrating I can do but I'm just not sure if anything else needs to be done because once the website has moved and before I close the shared hosting client website there will be 2 websites in different locations. How would I know which one is serving?
I'm guessing that I would need to add an A record to the new IP address of the VPS in WHM?

Can some one please talk me through how to migrate this successfully please?

Sorry I probably sound like a right noob.

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you.

You will need to change the name servers of this domain name at it's domain registrar to name servers that resolve to the new VPS. You can do this by creating name servers for the new VPS, per the instructions at:

    cPanel - Name Server Guide

    Thank you.
