Migrate Cyrus imap

HI, a client wants to migrate his mail from a mail server running Cyrus IMAP to cPanel. I have found the files containing the mails and I know where cPanel stores them. Problem is, can I just copy the mail-files into the cPanel mail directory? I see a naming convention in there and I don't know if mail will pop up as new mail or things might go wrong.

I moved mail before from cPanel to cPanel account without issues, but I imagine this is a completely different thing.

You may want to look at something like imapsync (assuming you can get the passwords on the source server). Imapsync just uses imap to read from the source and write to the target, so you don't really have to worry about how it's physically stored.

Another vote here for Imapsync. The odds of moving over flat files and hoping a new system reads them correctly is low.
