Hello! nice to be here

It seems that the built-in migration system from Plesk to cPanel is designed to migrate from linux to linux but my old plesk server runs windows 2003, and I need to migrate 100+ domains.

Whats the best option?

Thank you!

Hello,

Unfortunately, there's currently no way to migrate from a Windows-based control panel to cPanel, so this would have to be performed manually for the site migrations, although we would be happy to try to answer the questions you might have.

Probably the best course of action would be to create each account on the cPanel machine, then to FTP download and FTP upload the contents for the sites.

Next, what is the email server being used for email services?

Of note, MSSQL databases will not be able to be transferred as cPanel Linux supports MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Thanks!

is there a way to transfer email accounts and their respective passwords or do they have to be created manually and clients informed of their new passwords? I need to transfer 16 domains from windows to linux...

No, there is no such utility. Emails won't be migrated as structure of MTA on linux and windows is way too different. Yes, you need to create the email accounts manually.

New Any updates in this case? Is it still not possible to migrate from windows plesk to cpanel?
Hello @em.ci,

There are currently no plans to support migrations from Windows-based control panels to cPanel. However, we do offer the following guide for information on migrating from unsupported control panels to cPanel:

Manual migrations to cPanel from unsupported control panels

We're happy to answer any questions or concerns you have about the manual migration process.

Thanks!
