Migrate MySql server

Hi all.

I am managing now a CentOS whm/Cpanel server and due to high loads i was thinking of setting up a dedicated mysql server and migrating old mysql to the new one.
Is this even possible without changing clients scripts, backup problems, and so on...?
Please some advice.
