    Hello,

I am manually migrating a website from a host that uses a proprietary control panel into a cPanel account. I was wondering if there is any particular method I can use to copy the site via ftp and retain any special file/folder permissions? As of right now I used FileZilla to create a copy of the site on a computer, and then moved that copy into the cPanel account via FTP. The only problem is that any special file/folder permissions aren't retained. Is there a better way I can copy the site and automatically retain the permissions. If not, is there a good terminal command to list special permissions (so i can manually change them on the cPanel server), or perhaps another method I haven't even considered?

    Thanks for any help!

Normally using FTP will create the files and folders with the correct permissions. If special settings are needed, your host can assist with the special settings.
