Hi!

We are currently migrating from our old servers to our new WHM/Cpanel ones.
We have succesfully done everything so far, only our DNS servers remain with 500+ domains.

Is there an easy way to import the DNS Zone files to WHM/Cpanel, or we must copy/paste every record manually?

DNS Server: Debian 6.0 with Bind9

I can't find a satisfying awnser to this problem

Has anyone done this kind of migration?

Thank you for your responses.

You should be able to simply copy the zone files over to /var/named/ and WHM will read them just fine (unless something changed), however, you'll have to assign the ownership of each zone to the correct user.

Thank you for your answer.

I copied a DNS zone file from the old server to /var/named
renamed the file to match the others (domain.com.db)
Assigned the ownership to "named"
reloaded the named service

It works and I can edit the file in WHM too.
