    So here is my situation.

I have root access to WHM, and access to the cpanel account in question.

The cpanel account has several domains on it, that we want to move to new IPs (just got approved for an additional block of IPs).

The domains were added as Addon Domains for a single cpanel account.

I have been looking through the UI of Cpanel and WHM, and can not find anything other than import from another cPanel server.

I can't create a new account with domains already in use, and we already have mail on the servers which are using IMAP that we don't want to lose.

Ideally, I want to create new account from an Addon domain, retaining all files and retaining all emails.

This would allow me to setup the domains on another account with minimal effort, other than modifying DNS settings which is easy.

Does anyone know how to do this simply, or am I in for a long and tedious migration process?

There is no direct option to migrate only addon domains to new IP address. You will just need to migrate a main domain to new server which is residing addon domains. All the sub domains and addon domains will be migrated to the new server automatically.

Well this isn't on a new server though, I only have one server.

Is there no way to do this, or to setup a way so that e-mails don't get lost?

I am not getting your query exactly. Do you wish to remove current addon domain and host it as a individual account?

If this is the case then there is no direct way to do it. You will have to first manually backup all the web files and databases etc.

For emails I would suggest to download them to local machine by configuring your email accounts with one of the email client like outlook express.

    maybe try this:

temporarily move a copy of the mail accounts to a safe place.

    Compress/Package the mail accounts
    /home/user/mail/domain
This saves the email messages for the domain you are moving.

    also package /home/user/etc/domain
This gives you the account logins for easy setup at new location.

    Remove addon domain.
    Create new account for domain.
move your packages to the respective locations, unpack, and chown user:user

(this is not a step by step how-to, just a general idea of how I might do it)
