    Hi

I am writing to make a query regarding migrations between different servers.

Currently we have a server, which uses as handler suPHP, in this server there are no folder permissions 0777 since the handler takes care of the owner's permissions.

we want to migrate to a new server, optimized for wordpress (like this post wiki.mikejung.biz/WordPress_Optimization

but when we migrate the sites, all sites report problems, because certain folders do not have writable privileges

Is there any way to emulate the behavior of suPHP but with SGI + PHP-FPM where it is not necessary to use folder permissions? since we have to migrate like 400 sites and it would be crazy to go folder by folder correcting permissions, added to that many of the sites do not know which folders require permissions.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

There will be difficulties with this migration, as handlers are changing and handlers are particular about the settings they allow. If you transitioning from one handler to other, you will have to make the changes that will suite the new handler..

You can create a plan of action and then create a shell script for your purpose, you do not have to go folder by folder for such things.

    Hi
thanks a lot for your answer

so what configuration do you recommend in order to have same permissions way of work as suPHP ?
    there are any option?

or you recommend to add suPHP to this new server even when it is EOL ?
    thanks!!!!

    Hello,

There is no real automated way to do this when you move everything over you'll need to fix permissions once it's moved.
