    Hello all,

    i'm trying to migrate my websites from plesk to cpanel.

    I've the root access on both server, and I know the migration service by cPanel, but I need to do this manually (clients times, etc).

    I've tried the transfer from cPanel. It works, but it copy only subdomains, databases, etc. and not the public_html (or httpdocs) folder. I've (on plesk server) both the folder, because in the past I've migrated from cPanel to Plesk.

    Do you know why cPanel doesn't copy the files present in public_html?
    Code:
    lrwxrwxrwx  1 bettinz bettinz   10 23 feb 03:53 anon_ftp -> public_ftp/
    lrwxrwxrwx  1 bettinz bettinz   19 23 feb 03:53 cgi-bin -> public_html/cgi-bin/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K  3 feb 04:24 conf/
    -rw-------  1 bettinz bettinz    0 23 feb 03:52 .contactemail
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 23 feb 03:53 .cpanel/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 23 feb 03:52 cpmove.psql/
    drwxr-x---  5 bettinz mail    4,0K 23 feb 03:52 etc/
    drwxr-x---  2 bettinz nobody  4,0K 23 feb 03:52 .htpasswds/
    lrwxrwxrwx  1 bettinz bettinz   11 23 feb 03:53 httpdocs -> public_html/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 23 feb 03:52 logs/
    drwxr-x--x 11 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 23 feb 03:52 mail/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 11 nov 14:52 pd/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 11 nov 14:52 private/
    drwxr-xr-x  5 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 11 nov 14:52 public_ftp/
    drwxr-x---  5 bettinz nobody  4,0K 23 feb 03:52 public_html/
    drwxr-xr-x  7 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 11 nov 14:52 statistics/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 23 feb 03:52 subdomains/
    drwxr-xr-x  3 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 23 feb 03:52 tmp/
    drwxr-xr-x  2 bettinz bettinz 4,0K 11 nov 14:52 web_users/
    lrwxrwxrwx  1 bettinz bettinz   11 23 feb 03:52 www -> public_html/

    in httpdocs I can see only subdomain.domain.com
    I've also tried with an empty domain, containing only an index.html file. It doesn't copy the file :(

    Thanks for the help ;)

    I've found the problem:

    1) The first migration was cPanel to Plesk -> home directory is called like cPanel (public_html) and a symbolic link from httpdocs. But the path is public_html
    2) Cpanel look for a directory called httpdocs, but it's only a symbolic link, and stop migration (no file migrated).

    I can rename every folder from public_html to httpdocs, but I hope you can help me to change the folder that cPanel searc from httpdocs to public_html.

    Thanks

    Please open a ticket with our support staff (links are in my signature). We'll be happy to investigate this issue further for you. I've personally never seen a stock configured Plesk box with httpdocs existing as a symlink. Is this a manual customization that you had performed to the Plesk server?

    In either case, our staff can work to identify any bugs within the transfer script at which point we can work towards resolving them.

    Thanks for the reply, i've read bad, this is the real situation.

    1) cPanel to Plesk -> public_html with the same name

    (Plesk mantain the public_html name for migrated website, and call httpdocs the folder for new website).

    2) Plesk to cPanel-> cpanel search a folder called httpdocs, but the folder is called public_html.

    I've made several tests, and cPanel can migrate without problem if the domain was created with plesk (and the folder called httpdocs) of if I do "mv public_html/ httpdocs/" then migrate the website :)

    Thank you for the clarification on this.

    I can indeed confirm that there is a bug present in the Plesk migration script that will result in the httpdocs symlink itself being copied into the archive if one exists (instead of the symlink's target being copied).

    Case 57625 has been opened regarding this bug. A pkgacct with a workaround should be available shortly if you'd like to contact our support staff vs. waiting until the patch makes it into the public builds.
