Missing Templage

I am trying to set up a new account. It looks successful but when I try to go to it with a browser I get the message

Template Error: The template file must be given (or the template could not be opened)

Does anyone know the problem. It is a part of another domain, I believe they established the registration correctly. It is a xxx.yyy.org type situation, and I do not host yyy.org I have set these up previously, but not working this time. Do I need to check the selection to ignore local settings and use those at registrar?
