Miva Merchant and SMTP

    We are using Miva Merchant on our cpanel servers. The problem is Miva Merchant uses SMTP to send email rather than sendmail. When Miva Merchant processes an order and tries to send an email it gives this error:

    -----
    Your Email could not be sent at this time. The following error was
    encountered: Host (www.domain.com) [127.0.0.1] is not
    permitted 550-to relay through server.host.com. 550-Perhaps you
    have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes. 550-You may also have been rejected because your ip a
    -----

    Does anyone know how to allow local domains to relay locally?

    SMTP is the protocol, not an application/service.

    Try changing the Miva configuration to use 'localhost' instead of your SMTP server hostname (mail.something.com).
