Now that we have apache2 is it possible to get mod_deflate working with cpanel/whm ?

If so, does anyone have a tutorial for it because easyapache doesn't appear to build the module or even have an option to do so.

    Thanks

    well

I'm almost certain that because Apache 1.3.37 is the current stable version of the 1.3 series then the folks at cpanel will have their reasons for sticking with the current stable versions.

    Thanks for the attitude!

I am referring to building apache through cpanel. I see no option to include mod_deflate. I do see mod_gzip but I don't want to use it.

I am new to Cpanel, not new to linux. This is the first time I've needed to use a control panel of any kind. I am just very concious of not doing too much custom stuff to something thats purpose is to integrate.

No, what I am saying is that there is in fact an option
right there on the screen for mod_deflate !!!!

Mod_Gzip is a seperate option and is much further
    down the building option list

There is no mod_deflate option in EasyApache:

    WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.6.0-R15076
    CENTOS Enterprise 4.5 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

Perhaps you enabled EA3? I know the options in EA3 are different from EA. For example, in EA - mod_gzip is near the top whereas in EA3, it is near the bottom under "Experimental Modules."

Yes, that would be it! BahBah and I are clearly on different Cpanel versions!

    cPanelDavidG, you know me ....

    Always EDGE .... Always!

(In the current EasyApache, mod_deflate is in the initial options and GZIP is listed as experimental further down the list)
